If there is one commodity that increases in value year after year, it’s the time we have to spend. I am sure you have realized how having no time, or too little of it complicates your life.

How will you use your valuable time in 2019 to it’s maximum potential?

Most of us are bombarded with to-do lists from the moment we open our eyes in the morning.  When we exhaustedly fall into bed at night, we most probably added to the list instead of ticking off items from the list.

Our lives are very complex, and we have much less time in an age with much more technological tools to manage our time than ever before. Everything has to happen better and faster, all the time.  It is almost as if we have lost the art of living simple lives which brings with it much more peace, joy and…time.

While listening to New York Times bestselling author, Rory Vaden, I realized that there are definite habits we can adopt to help multiply, and not waste our time. One of his favourite quotes is this: “There is no such thing as time management, there is only self-management”

There are habits that are quite simple and if put to good use can very significantly change your life and multiply the time you have to use. We just need some self-management to put then into practice.

Let me share these habits with you:

Think about your tasks this way:

  • What can I do today that will make tomorrow better? (A significance calculation)
  • How LONG is the task that I am busy with going to last?
  • Give yourself the emotional permission to spend time on things today that will give you more time tomorrow.
  • Multipliers realize that anything that I say NO to today, creates more time tomorrow.
  • Think about every task this way: Can I eliminate the task? Can I automate the task? (Automation is to your time, exactly what compounding interest is to your money)Can I delegate? (Can I teach someone else to do this task)If you still have to do the task either do it NOW or procrastinate on purpose (Please Note this is not procrastination because you don’t feel like doing it, but because the task is not significant enough to spend your time on now)Repeat this process over and over.

Have you thought about how much time driving takes out of your day?

In South Africa we spend many hours on the road in comparison with the rest of the world, all of your hours spent driving, if given back to you, can change your life!

What if you delegate that task to a Corporate Shuttle driver?

Invest in your time and enjoy the productivity and freedom the extra time will bring.

This is a lot to think about, especially if you would like to change the way you have been doing things and want to start changing old habits.

Change your habits now and see how your actions increase in significance and how, suddenly, your calendar starts opening up.
